The Evolution of Jefo
From its inception over 25 years ago, Jefo has made it its mission to take the feed industry in an innovative, animal-centered direction.
Towards improving the science, economics and techniques of livestock production. And away from the use of antibiotic growth promoters. As part of that effort, research has always been key, including work with partners and third parties such as universities, on lab and field-based R&D.
Early on, Jefo established Canada’s first private poultry research station and later, one of the country’s first private pig research stations in order to understand and develop products that optimize animal nutrition and health. And then a technological breakthrough was made that would boost efficiency and therefore productivity; it was the embodiment of Jefo’s animal-centered approach.
Jefo developed a patented production process for monogastric and polygastric products. It was known of course, that each species ingests nutrients at a different rate and at a different time in the digestive process. The process is flexible and robust making it ideal for enzyme supplements, acidifiers, fatty acids, amino acids, vitamins and minerals, and more. And because it is species-specific, the process assists the animal while lowering production costs, improving feed efficiency and enhancing feed plant productivity. To meet demand, Jefo added a HACCP-certified coating technology facility to its infrastructure in 2000.
Jefo has grown to become a trusted name in the agricultural feed industry in more than 50 countries, with offices on 5 continents and on-going trials at research stations and labs in both hemispheres. We are recognized as specialists in the design, manufacturing, warehousing, shipping and trans-loading of an array of quality animal nutrition products to customers around the world.
And wherever in the world we are, we continue to work to ensure that animal nutrition contributes to protecting the health of farm animals, the environment and the consumer.
